I don’t know why this has always been my habit. Except I’m normally wearing pants. I used to take an after school painting class from 5th - 12th grade and during those years I had just 2 pairs of “paint pants”. You can imagine the mounds of thick cracked paint they accumulated over 7 years. My fav was the almost perfect bright green hand print on the butt cheek of my first pair.
